Photograph by @Cristina Mittermeier // Two meters or seven feet long. That is the wingspan of the black-browed albatross. Compare that to the average height of a human being, which is 5.7 feet or 170 cm, and you can start imagining just how large these beautiful birds are. I photographed this one on a late afternoon as it was approaching the colony at Steeple Jason Island, West Falklands.
