Photo by @michaelclarkphoto // Looking up through the Aspen forest canopy at night with the stars shining through the trees just off the Last Dollar Road near Telluride, Colorado. This is what happens when you get a little whacky with light painting at 2 AM. I always love the view of the sky looking straight up through a canopy of aspens during the day and I have photographed that, as have others, quite often. But we have all seen that image a million times so here I tried to do something different. I used a flashlight to light up the central part of the canopy and with a bit of experimentation got these results. The first image is a shorter 15 second exposure with the stars frozen in place, the second is a 30 minute exposure to streak the stars as our planet rotated and the last image is what this same scene looked like earlier that afternoon. #telluride #lastdollarroad #aspens #canopyofstars
