87kg/191lb Snatch ? and 108kg/238lb Clean and Jerk (ties PR) for a 195kg Total. I didn’t just show up to compete, I came to fight for medals. I left a 90 snatch and a 113 clean and jerk out on the platform, but I also left everything I had out there and gave it my all. That is all we can ever ask of ourselves. I am most proud of the 113 attempt. I have only ever done pulls at this weight, never even attempted a clean this heavy- and I was so freaking close to finishing it for the gold medal clean and jerk. I went after it. That took guts. I didn’t come out with the glory, but my time will come. I was a fierce competitor yesterday amongst very talented women. I wrote “stay in the fight” on a piece of paper in my gym about a month ago - and that is what I kept repeating to myself during the competition - I had to stay in the game, no matter what - and I did. Not just for myself but for my team, my friends, and for everyone that has helped get me to this point. Once it was over I felt a huge relief and with that came with it a surge of emotions. I did my job. And I did it well.
Thank you to @im53batch @texasbarbellclub @powerandgraceperformance for handling me at the meet - and to my coach and mentor @burnscolin for getting me to this next level of weightlifting. Funny to think I was ready to hang up my weightlifting shoes for good- and now each meet I keep proving to myself that I belong here on this platform.
