“Spring seems to arrive out of nowhere each year, a sudden and implausible 30-degree leap in temperature from what is always, somehow, the worst winter the city has ever seen. If not the coldest, the longest. If neither notably cold nor notably long, still somehow the grimmest,” @dannosowitz writes in @nytimesfashion. In New York City, and others cities that suffer through winter, residents tend to rush headfirst into the warmth. “We wear shorts when it is really too cold for shorts,” @dannosowitz explains. “We buy ice cream even though it is 55 degrees and rainy and we are still wearing our winter coats.” The photographer @arnold_daniel captured some of these springtime disparities while on assignment for @nytimesfashion. Swipe left to see more of his photos of “spring” — even though it hasn’t necessarily looked or felt that way.
