"A few weeks ago l made the decision to head up to Kosciuszko Nation Park to shoot the Aries Tor. I had been planning this trip for a while but unfortunately, the weather had been so dry and my concern was that the surrounding pools would be dry and lacking any water around the Tor. Luckily, there was a short downpour of around 100mm early in the week, so seeing this report gave me confidence that the conditions would be right. l decided to throw the gear into the car and head off on a 6.5 hour journey from Melbourne to Thredbo.
I arrived at Thredbo around 3pm Saturday afternoon, headed up the chairlift and hiked 2 hours to the Tor. I found a nice location to pitch the tent for the night and woke up around 6am to find that the whole area was covered in low fog. While waiting for sunrise and setting up the gear, l noticed that the low fog covering the Tor was moving in and out of the area very fast. All l needed, was a short break in the weather conditions to fire off a few shots; what happened next was one of the most memorable moments of perfect light that l had ever seen." - @thomas_lucht
