In the 1970s, having a Ferrari as your daily driver wasn’t so hard. Bob Boniface's father, Raymond, purchased the 1962 250 GTE pictured here for $3,800 in 1973 to use as his own.⠀ ⠀ They knew from the registration card that the Ferrari’s original owner had been the legendary British actor Peter Sellers. They later learned that the vehicle had been delivered to Mr. Sellers while he was on the set of the 1963 movie "The Wrong Arm of the Law." The car appears in that movie, but was white at the time.⠀ ⠀ In 1975, Mr. Boniface's father sold the Ferrari for $4,800. Four years ago, his dad found the original owners' manual with the registration card signed by Sellers. He called Bob, director of exterior design at GM's Buick division, and said, "you’re connected in the car world. You should find that old Ferrari so we can give the owner this manual, as it is an important piece of history." Bob, of Bloomfield Hills., Mich, took up the challenge.⠀ ⠀ Three years later, Bob found the Ferrari, which still belonged to the owner that had purchased it from his father over 40 years earlier. As luck would have it, the owner was interested in selling the GTE to someone who appreciated its history. So, in April of 2017, Bob bought the car back. His father, now 93, came over to take a ride. "The last time we were in this car together, you drove," Bob told his dad. "Now it’s my turn."⠀ ⠀ Read more at the link in our bio. ⠀ ⠀ ?: @jasonckeen⠀ ⠀ #myride #myridewsj #ferrari
