Jeff Krekeler, 52, of Farmington, Mo., bought the car-crushing High Roller II after getting the original Bigfoot monster truck to make an appearance at his 30th high school reunion. When months later he saw an ad on Craigslist for the High Roller II, which had been sitting for years in an Oklahoma field, he plunked down $8,500 for the 1979 Ford F-350.⠀

"I thought it would be fun to have around. I had no plans to restore it," he said. "But this is when, for me at least, this story gets really interesting."⠀

Krekeler, a jewelry-store owner, saw those in the monster-truck community come out of the woodwork to help restore the vehicle, from top to bottom.⠀

"Lucky for me, I have a small army of volunteers that helps me keep it going."⠀
