Meet the smallest bird in the world: the Cuban Bee Hummingbird. I recently spent a week on the island of Cuba trying to document rare and endangered birds, including these hyperactive little things, which may feed on 1500+ flowers a day. (Getting them to hold still for a picture can be a maddening enterprise…) Endemic to the island, Bee Hummingbirds are found nowhere else on earth, and although fairly widespread, are often difficult to see.
