‘This Boucheron bangle is representative of the Retro period of jewellery, made between the late 1930s to 1950s,’ explains Marie-Cécile Cisamolo, our Jewellery specialist in Geneva (@mariececilechristies).

‘At the time, gemstones were rare because of the war. Jewellery masters let loose their creativity with the only material available: gold. The bangle characterises this time with its curving gold shape and small sapphires and diamonds. I think it’s a masterpiece.’
