My dad walked on unexpectedly this evening. I haven’t really been calm or cool or collect. I’ve been waves. Waves of grief I’ve not known. Waves of gratitude for every moment. Waves of sadness that I won’t hear his voice again. I probably should wait to share something like this here. But I’m here daily and this space is a part of my world. I can’t come on here and carry on like my daddy didn’t just pass away. Everything changes in an instant. I’ve listened to all the voicemails I had saved again and again. He was my first hero, my always hero, my Dynamite Awesome Dad. I miss you already. There are no words for how much. I’ll always be your bubbette. And I love you best. I wish we had more time. There’s never enough. But that’s when you know that the moments were the greatest kind. Thank you for giving me your best. Thank you for teaching me how to always look for magic, how to believe in myself fiercely and for telling me how proud you were of me in every conversation we had. You gifted me with hope and wonder and so much more. I’m proud to be your daughter and you were and are the most wonderful Dad I could have hoped for. You were truly the very best. ?
