The rocks close to Motukiekie beach are home to startling, orange, twelve legged starfish, which are the peculiarity for which this beach is known. It is probably the most photogenic and dramatic beach in the South Island of New Zealand, a truly mind-blowing place to be and also a paradise for nature and landscape photographers. However, it is accessible only at low tide and beware of the treacherous path down. "To create a tack sharp photo, in my case one exposure was not enough to cover this particular image with very strong foreground details. So I have applied a technique called “Focus Stack” to enhance the depth of the image and to make the starfish "pop" without losing any sharpness of those giant sea stacks and blend them together in Photoshop.” - @chandra_b87
