Photo by @amivitale.  Mary Lengees, one of the first female keepers at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e) in Northern Kenya, caresses Suyian, Reteti’s first resident. Suyian was rescued in September 2016 when she was just four weeks old.  Reteti is the first ever community owned and operated sanctuary in Africa.
