For some of us they are the rites of passage that come with being a human: giving birth, weddings, the departure of loved ones. For me, being in the water at sunset, surrounded by Silky sharks and not feeling an ounce of fear, has definitely redefined my relationship with the ocean and with myself. On this evening, when I jumped in the water to photograph these majestic animals, I felt the thrill of their presence and I felt alive, humbled and immensely happy to be a part of the vast oceanic community for a few precious minutes.
