From boyhood to adulthood, young Maasai boys begin to learn the responsibilities of being a man and a warrior. The role of a warrior is to protect their animals from human and animal predators, to build homes, and to provide security to their families. Today, the Maasai find themselves at odds with conservation. As grazing land becomes more and more encroached, they have no choice but to illegally bring their cattle to graze in Wildlife reserves. This introduces conflict with rangers and tourist operators. Most importantly, it creates conflict with wildlife.
