Monday's Act of Kindness:
10 year old Activist Amariyanna "Mari” Copeny, who gained fame by encouraging President Barack Obama to visit Flint, Mich., in 2016 during the city’s water crisis is in the spotlight again, this time for helping several hundred underprivileged kids see “Black Panther” over the weekend. Mari worked with her cousin and raised more than $16,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to rent out a theater in Flint. Her mother, Loui “Lulu” Brezzell, said she worked with shelters, as well as boys and girls clubs, to find children who otherwise probably would not have seen the movie in the theater.
Mari’s motivation for doing so? “Black Kids need to see themselves as superheroes,” said Mari, “Black kids are seen as victims — and we’re not". Thank you lil Miss Flint. You continue to inspire all of us xx. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/inspired-life/wp/2018/02/20/10-year-old-little-miss-flint-helped-hundreds-of-underprivileged-kids-see-black-panther-over-the-weekend/?utm_term=.f758bf63d408
