the c o m e b a c k is always stronger then the s e t b a c k. Oh SNAP. You didn't think I'd forget all the shit I went thru? Did you? I speak for all the young girls & leading ladies in the food industry. I never forgot the boys (other line cooks) that made me cry in the walk-in. I'll never forget that douche who talked shit to my face on Top Chef. I won't forget how you said I was "too pretty to teach women how to cook" ... I'll never forget how you didn't pay me for the book that we wrote. I won't forget how much more you paid the boys, for the same exact work. I'll never forget when you didn't give me that final chance to have my own cooking series. I'll never forget how you made me wear baggy clothes on set + my hair wasn't allowed to be styled (& my co-hosts got blow outs + tight clothes galore)--That was never about me, it was about some other woman's insecurities. I won't forget how many more opportunities you gave the boys. I won't forget all the passes some men made on me-- it was SO frequent, it became normalized. I won't forget when you walked away from me, the day before my last book release. I won't forget. Women have been treated like shit no more, in the food and culinary industries, it's time for equal pay, equal treatment & equality for all. Respect. Allow for me to be the strong one who could take all this and turn it into something beautiful. That's what kintsugi is, it's about sealing the pain, making it into golden progress. Allow me to be the example. I haven't come out with a new book release since 2015. It's time. #TimesUp #MeToo ladies, don't ever be afraid to MAKE YOUR COMEBACK & SHOW don't tell. ??????I stand with you, more on my story @iamwellandgood speaking event this WED. In Japanese we don't stand down, we stand UP. #NYC⚡️?xxx ck
