The medieval city is choked with tour buses, but new developments around the spacious lake it sits on — called Lake Lucerne by tourists but known as #Vierwaldstttersee to locals — promise to thin crowds and offer accessible doses of authentic #SwissAlps. This winter, overnighters will automatically receive a pass that’s good for use on the region’s buses, boats, trains and cable cars, including the new #Stoosbahnen, Switzerland's steepest funicular railway. The Stoosbahnen, captured here by @andyhaslamphoto, offers access to family-friendly Stoos, a scenic alpine resort that’s home to 21 miles of ski runs, a new lady bug-themed hiking trail, cheese markets, and yodeling and alphorn concerts.
