I am unbelievably honoured to share that I am a recipient of a @CANFUND grant. Andrew and I each have been fortunate enough to be part of the CANFund family for many years now— they’ve been by our side since the early years, supporting our lofty goals, celebrating our achievements, and being part of the building blocks to moving forward, countless times. Our career would not have the highs without the stability that CANFund has helped bring to our Team.
But this year is a little bit different. This year, my bursary has been entirely donated by women. Previously, as I learned from co-founder, Jane Roos, an overwhelming majority of the donations were from men (and there’s no problem with that!) But Jane made it her mission to help support our Canadian girls with a little girl power.. and now, numerous grants are 100% female; for the first time.
This is a time in history when, as a female athlete, I feel proud and ABLE to achieve the goals I set, and I believe it’s so important to understand how far society and culture has come, and has yet to go. With the support of men and women across Canada, @CANFund is making sure every driven athlete has the means to go the distance, all the while telling the world… “Yes, SHE can, too!” #150women
