That will open up new territory for camera trapping but also means my favorite wet locations will lose some of their watery magic until summer rains return. Just as polar bears are icons of the arctic and ambassadors for the impacts of climate change, black bears are emblems of our remnant forests and provide a call to action for the importance of protecting wildlife corridors to keep their habitat connected.
