Husband comes in holding the camera (it’s like it’s permanently attached to his hand now!). I get a little annoyed because, well, I’m naked. We’re showering after pool time. “Why do you bring the camera in here?” I ask. “Because the two of you are always so beautiful” he says. I soften. And he takes these photos. And I can’t stop looking at them. Look at us. Look at this child! This child and this totally mundane moment. It’s a happens-every-day moment. Not at all glamorous or something you’d think to capture. Somehow it embodies what life with her is like: even the mundane becomes magical. This might just be the single most beautiful series of photos I have ever seen. Somehow he captures us. The sparkle in her eyes. How we melt into each other. She loves the warm water and I love her so much I could use every single letter of every alphabet from every language in the world and they would still not suffice. This is a love you can’t put into words. She is sleeping now and I miss her so much. I can’t wait for her to wake up in the morning so I can be with her. Just spend time. Do mundane things like shower and clap our hands and point at the lamp and try to not eat too many things off the floor. Today when I asked “what does the dog say” she looked at Ringo and suddenly said: “heh heh heh!”. And then she smiled so big that all three of her little bottom teeth came out. We have conversations now! Ok I don’t know any dog that barks even remotely like that but I want to just stay in this moment forever. I want to live in her world! It’s the best world. Where dogs go heh and every crumb off the floor is delicious and the light that glows from the thing that hangs from the ceiling is the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen. Little moon. She lights up the whole sky
