2018 will mark my 20th year climbing. In the first near decade and a half, my joy from climbing primarily manifested in competition results and hard single pitch grades. That was the version of climbing that inspired me and brought me the greatest satisfaction. As I have matured with the sport I have a deeper appreciation for the holistic adventure. Exploring new places, learning new terrain and ability, using climbing as a conduit to better the environment and economic infrastructure of impoverished regions, experiencing the global language of a shared passion around the world... these are elements of climbing that fuel me with so much excitement now. I will always love the feeling of clipping chains on a challenging sport climb; that little moment of unparalleled joy that comes at the top, after falling over and over again and finally succeeding. I will continue to train for these specific glories. Though, I also aspire to continue to broaden my horizons and to collect more diverse experiences in various facets of climbing in the New Year. I am motivated for 2018 because I have some new trips lined up, outside of my comfort zone, that I am excited to share with all of you. Exploring the unknown, living out new opportunities, and following whatever it is that you are passionate about is key to growth and fulfillment. My top 3 performance highlights that I am proud of this year are: •First Female Ascent and 2nd Ascent (to @adam.ondra ) of Big Wall, Mora Mora in Madagascar with @edumarin1 • First Free Ascent of a Big Wall in Yosemite with @jon_cardwell @mgclimber1 • Sending 9 5.14’s this year, passing 30 First Female Ascents To whomever is still reading this lengthy post, Thank you SO much for your support and positive vibes. I love reading your kind words. You uplift me ?? ?‍♀️ let’s make 2018 the best year yet! Photo by @francoislebeau
