When we first started we worked out of my bedroom at my house because we didn’t have an office. I had a computer set up and a couple chairs. It was here where we recorded all of Reda’s renditions of the word BANGIN! Just right outside on the balcony. It was just here where our first employee @amrit (now the social media director for for Street League) showed me a video of someone he didn’t quite know what to think but thought I might like it. This was @donovanstrain and the piece was called HOW TO MAKE A BUTTERYASS ledge. Or at least that’s what I remember. I had never seen something so genius in my entire life. It was about the funniest thing I had ever seen. Now, I don’t know if Donovan ever thought he would do more than one of those kinds of videos but I quickly told Amrit to get Donovan to my house right away so we could talk. And so he did and it was then that we came up with the idea to do BUTTERYASS MONDAYS. Week after week we were treated with some of the funniest, most innovative skits and videos I had ever seen in skateboarding. It was truly a special time for all of us. The anticipation of what he would do next would sometimes kill us. Each week he would top himself from the week before. I can’t imagine how stressful it must have been. But I’m so thankful he did it. I love Donovan. I am so thankful to Donovan and this is why his video, BUTTERYASS MONDAYS TRICK TIPS, is coming in at #2 of the Berrics top 50 so far.
