I’ve been through thick and thin with @giovannireda, many late nights at Swingers and the 101 Cafe drinking malts and eating tuna melts. His quick wit and sense of humor is only one of the reasons why people love him, but before putting a video camera in his hand he was primarily known as a world-class photographer. When we first started the Berrics I had this one simple idea. Give Giovanni a camera and have him do what he does regularly, talk to people, be around skateboarding, shoot photos, only make sure the camera is recording. The first tapes he sent me were more than him and I could have possibly imagined. It took us a good 4 days to figure out just how to edit what he shot so that it felt like it did when you were with him in real life. I truly think Reda and I created a whole new type of editing style that is now a pretty regular method you see on almost every YouTube video. But before YouTube blew up, we already had dozens of Wednesdays with Reda on the site. Although we haven’t done a Wednesdays for awhile, we haven’t forgotten Reda’s acerbic wit and how much we love him. We are so proud of the things he’s created since, notably, Brian Anderson’s video for Vice that won him an award and next up, His @noravexplora documentary about her life for @adidas Skateboarding. So... Coming in at #5 of the Berrics top 50 videos of all time is Wednesdays with Reda. Giovanni, we love you from the bottom of our heart.
