I just realized something, two of the people in the top 10 videos of the Berrics top 50 videos of all time come from Michigan and are best friends. You remember Ross Capicchioni? Well, I know Ross because I know @codycepeda . He was with Cody at the make-a-wish event I was at in Houston. Cody actually won the first contest we ever had at the Berrics it was the PJ Ladd Project Granite contest where Pj did a half a dozen tricks and we asked the skaters of the world to film them and send them in. This was before social media was what it is now. It’s @pjladd so you know the tricks were not easy, but Cody did em. Did em all. So that’s where my friendship with Cody began. He came out to California with his friends from TCMT and I met him for the first time. Over the years I stayed in touch and when it was time to create the theme for BATB 7 it was actually Cody who I thought of that made me come up with the idea Pros vs Joes. If Cody was as good as he was but just not known yet then there had to be others out there in the same boat and sure enough there was. However, I had no idea Cody was going to win. I knew he would do well but did not know he was going to win. It had to be one of the proudest moments of my life. I could only imagine how he felt up against the greatest skateboarder in the world, @ルアン・オリベイラ, and beating him. I will never know what that feels like but I know I was on a high from it for a month. I love Cody. He’s a very dear friend of mine and it brings me so much pleasure to say that the video of him winning BATB 7, Pros vs Joes, is coming in at #7.
