#Kinkakuji is a zen temple that was originally a shogun’s retirement villa in the 1300s. It’s also an iconic tourist attraction. .
The top two floors are covered in gold leaf and it’s completely brilliant when the sun hits it.

This day in Kyoto was rainy and overcast. My friend @rachelleahcohen and I were upset with ourselves that we were late getting to the attraction. Now the crowds would be crazy.
.
Turned out, though, that the rains kept quite a few people away. As we stood on the quiet bank taking in the site, the sun came out and lit up the golden temple.
.
It was if to say, “You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be at the perfect time.” It was so gorgeous. We didn’t miss a thing.
.
Don’t beat yourself up about how you think things are supposed to go. Let it go and allow space for life to surprise you. You have more divine timing in you than you know.
