Stretching over 30000 acres, the area is a remnant of the Pleistocene Lake Bonneville and is the largest of many salt flats located west of the Great Salt Lake. Recent rains caused some unique salt crust patterns and a photographers dream to shoot images from an aerial perspective from a paraglider.
