These lumbering beasts, unique to this corner of the world are the only means of moving loads of gear in the high altitudes and bitter weather of the Himalaya. This one pictured at our camp around 14,000 feet while there in spring of 2016, was rather pleased to catch a few rays and eat whatever it could find in the sparse environment through which we traveled, not excluding the occasional cardboard box it managed to steal from the camps mess hall.
