A British adventurer flew 15 miles (24 km.) across South Africa in a camping chair tied to a bunch of large party balloons on Oct. 22, 2017. Tom Morgan, of the Bristol-based company The Adventurists, reached an altitude of more than 8,300 feet (2,530 m.), the Associated Press reports, before landing on solid ground two hours later. He had to pop the balloons as he received reports of strong winds on the approach. Morgan described the experience as "peaceful and terrifying in equal measure." Video source: The Adventurists
