Photo by @FransLanting “Meerkat Manor” A family of meerkats are sunning themselves at first light in the Kalahari Desert of Botswana, where it gets cold in winter. After they warm up, they’ll scamper across the desert searching for scorpions and other insects, but they’re always on the lookout for their enemies in the sky. They can spot eagles as specks in the distance and when they do, they’ll dive into the nearest burrow.
