Photo and text by Corey Arnold @arni_coraldo | The f/v Time Bandit heads out of Dutch Harbor en route to the crabbing grounds during the January Opilio crab season. I remember my first time ever crabbing in the Bering Sea back in 2003. As we left port, we were greeted straight away by 20-30 foot waves, 3 times bigger then I’d ever seen before and with my inexperience, seemed impossibly dangerous. But, I quickly learned that there is nothing to worry about until you see wrinkles starting to form on the brow of the captain. This was just another day in the Bering Sea.
