I learned much from my colleagues + mentors.
I taught myself everything I could.
I continued to learn.
I love challenges and projects that allow me to tune out the world and share creative food + recipes, writing that allows you deeper contemplation on your life.
Work that matters & can inspire, evoke emotion & create change.
I didn't complain, even when the vast majority of work was all unpaid.
I broke my bank account numerous times. Shit got real.

I've been discouraged, let down, and I've learned many lessons.
As the Japanese say, "fall seven times, stand up eight." Get right back up, girl.
I think the most valuable lesson of all is to keep learning, keep growing, surround yourself with talented, creative people & help others along the way.
Be loving, be kind + don't let money be the goal, let your work speak for itself & above all things love yourself as you go through this process. Value character and wisdom over money and power. Be empathetic & compassionate with others.
NYC never broke me, I only got better at everything.
