This is one of my favorites so far... after writing 5 clean lifestyle books, & getting lost in the midst of who everyone wants me to be... I lost myself.
Ikebana, mom's love of flowers, the homemade cakes she baked me as a kid, my Japanese heritage & love of practice. I watched her with glittering eyes as a kid. ✨✨✨ I was trying to fit in with all these clean eating books, when I was always meant to stand out with my Japanese heritage.
It took me 10 years to figure this out... Cooking, writing, educating, baking & decorating cakes with honesty and love helps me to concentrate and be mindful.
So many of you have been writing to me for help with finding your "thing" or how depressed you have been... it's okay.. ??this is life's ebb and flow... in Japanese we call this "mono no aware" the simple pathos in life, a gentle sadness we are aware of. Life will not always be fabulous. In fact, it took someone truly hurting me, to make me come out and see the silver lining in life.
You must focus on what makes you feel good, what practices help you to improve... what do you love the most, and how can you help others? I donate my cakes to everyone that's a special part of my life & today I sit on the committee with the women of @thepinkagenda for #breastcancer #breastcancerawarenessmonth today we reside funds to help those who need the support ?✨✨✨I am here for you.
Don't ever forget why and how you got started & how many people you can help when you truly shine. Don't dim your light for anyone!
