?In an effort to try to reason with myself during a set back to my training, I have tried to think what I would tell one of my clients I coach during this time: “focus on what you can control.” “One thing you can control is your diet and intake.” “This time will not be wasted if you keep making strides with your nutrition and areas of training that you can still do.”
?I took a break from tracking macros while I was traveling for about 6 weeks total and started things back up last week. Right now my intentions are to track 6 days per week hitting the macros I have assigned myself and then giving myself 1 day untracked to work on mindfully eating without being a slave to macro counting. This is giving me a nice *B*A*L*A*N*C*E* for the time being. I may not be in my best lifting shape right now, but I CAN continue working towards the best athlete I can be during this time. Just because you are down, doesn’t mean you are out!
?I am a flexible dieter and track the foods I eat and don’t have any “off limit” foods. This works the best for me and has kept able to stay on top of my nutrition and maintain my weight class for several years now. I have used flexible dieting to both cut a full weight class and build up to a new one. My current goals are to just focus on consistency and getting back in to a groove with a small cut.
