In the hours leading up to just about every game, baseball teams gather on the field to stretch. But the Chicago @シカゴ・カブス — who pride themselves on maintaining a relatively free-spirited work environment — have found a way to tinker with this routine. Their pregame stretching looks a lot more like group therapy. Led by Tim Buss, the team’s out-of-the-box strength and conditioning coach, the position players converge about 15 minutes before batting practice. One player or someone else who works for the club is chosen to stand in the middle of the circle. And then, one by one, everyone says something nice about the person. “It’s really all about being positive and picking someone else up when they need it,” @クリス・ブライアント, the @シカゴ・カブス’ star third baseman. “There’s times throughout the year where I need them to say something positive about me and I feel better. I love it.” And in terms of the game itself, does it work? Well, the #Cubs won the #WorldSeries last season. And they now have a chance to make it back-to-back titles. On Monday, @alyssaschukar photographed shortstop @アディソン・ラッセル getting hugs and encouragement from his teammates. #⚾️
