High school students: Have you knelt, locked arms or raised a fist during the national anthem at your school? Or did you choose to deliberately stand? What have your classmates done? We want to hear from you. Last year, Colin Kaepernick (@コリン・キャパニック) knelt for the national anthem before @NFL games as a protest against social injustice. His action intensified the national conversation about race, the police and the definition of patriotism. And it spread beyond the @NFL. Last year, @nickcotephoto captured members of the football team at Aurora Central High School in Aurora, Colorado, kneeling silently during “The Star-Spangled Banner.” In recent weeks, as more players in @NFL league have locked arms, taken a knee or raised their fists during the national anthem, high school students have taken similar actions. Our reporters want to hear from students who have participated in these protests, as well as from those who have chosen not to. Have you knelt, locked arms or raised fists — or seen others at your school do so — during the national anthem? Or did you choose not to protest? What was the experience like? Why did you choose to do what you did? Did you discuss your choice with anyone? Were there any consequences? Tell us in the comments or DM us with your answer.
