Lately I've gotten back into the habit of taking my personal journal along with me everywhere I go. It's a bit more bulky than my other notebooks but I have come to like the nuance and actual weight of carrying it to and fro. It's a tangible reminder literally tugging on me to slow down amidst the fast paced area in which I dwell. To actually stop and just sit and write when inspiration whisks its way into my day instead of telling myself I'll jot it down later which I almost never do. And I've found that the more I get into the habit of this, the more I look forward to coming back to my journal to write, draw, paint, release and discover. It feels like the anticipation of being able to read a wonderful novel when the day slows down except that I get to hold the pen and create my own dreams and stories and lore. And I love that.
