I saw this at @fateischance 's feed today and it felt like what I needed to hear. So much of the work I've been doing in therapy lately is about understanding what I've thought of as my "gut" or "intuition" and realizing just how inaccurate it can actually be. I've learned to let go of the idea of "meant to be" and am working on what is, or what isn't yet. It's freeing and scary at the same time, but it's so important. The idea of "meant to be" used to motivate me but now it feels infinitely more accurate to acknowledge the hard work (and in a lot of cases, privilege) and timing that go into something actually happening. I never want to forget how much people have to go through to get where they're going and I'm excited to be working on a new print project right now that looks at all the ups and downs that people encounter on those paths ❤️??
