If you were wondering... THIS IS WHAT 12 HOURS OF SLEEP LOOKS LIKE!!!!! Holy shit. I'm blown away! After two months of super challenging nights and very little sleep I decided to take charge and have since read 8 books on sleep?? We are currently learning how to sleep through the night, weaning from all night time feedings, teething and sleeping in our own crib for the very first time all at once. And it's working!!!!!! No crying it out. I've taken the best tips and use what intuitively feels good and ok, I'm not going to canta gloria/ropa hej/get too excited about this until we've had a few weeks of knowing for sure that this is here to stay but I can say this: a rested baby is a happy baby. I didn't know she needed this much sleep - her being over tired has masqueraded as being super happy and hyper. I'll probably do a podcast on all of this but so far what's working the absolute best and that I saw huge changes with right away is protecting her naps, making sure day time naps are in dark, still and quiet room and never in stroller or car, earlier bedtimes and introducing soft and gentle moments for her to learn how to self soothe. And white noise (so dogs barking all night don't startle)! AHMAGAD IM FREAKING OUT. 12 hours of sleep and I'm perplexed over this feeling. She woke up at 7.15am and just laid there talking and cooing. So happy. I'm so happy. Ok if you're not an exhausted parent it's hard to understand this feeling but it's a combination of Christmas morning and your favorite pizza and nailing a yoga pose you've worked on forever and finding a $10 bill in your pocket while doing laundry and double rainbows and the best glass of wine and your favorite episode of The Office and all the unicorn magic out there combined?❤️????? @loving.lealuna I love youuuuuuuuu! #holymotherhood #sleep #lealuna #sharkbaby #happiness #love
