Our black-footed ferrets are having a ball! Keepers at SCBI gave mom ZivaDee and her kits a Jolly Ball filled with shredded paper to investigate for enrichment. The kits scent-marked the ball—claiming it as their own. They also hid inside, jumped on top and rolled around as they play fought. In the wild, black-footed ferrets scent-mark items to identify their territory and play fight to hone their hunting skills.
