So I've officially started Chinese language school in Shanghai ?? Not only is it revealing much about Chinese language and culture, but also much about my own. Did you know in British English, if you're "doing porridge" it means you're in prison serving a sentence ⛓ and in contrast to Western cultures, in China the future is perceived as behind and the past in front!
