I want to add to Karla's words below, that each of us has a responsibility. When our leaders won't lead us (conservative or progressive), we must lead ourselves. We must adapt our lifestyles. I have heard that 50% of America's greenhouse gas output comes from heating and cooling our homes. If that's true, that means each of us has a PROFOUND impact on the environment. I am turning off my AC for #Houston. What will you do today? Karla, thank you for your powerful words....

Times are dire right now in America, but this, this will become a way of life if we let our politicians and big corporations continue along the path of ignoring scientists and environmentalists. This isn't a 100 year flood, this is the effect of global warming and it is not going away. Make some noise people - we stopped repeal and replace with our voices. Our lives depend on serious action! Call your congressperson, senator, chemical company etc and put some pressure on making the environment ( and all the socioeconomic factors that go with it ) a priority! Demand that our leaders LEAD! (and btw this goes back way before Trump)."
