I started climbing when I was 5 and since that moment it has consumed my life for the last 23 years. Climbing is ever changing and presents both mental and physical challenges that start with self doubt and later turn into success. This process empowers me to keep going.
Climbing allows me to travel the globe and connect with people that I would not think of if I was not a climber. Though we may not be able to verbally communicate on the same level, we know rocks, beta, emotional struggle, and movement. That's all you need to share to have a good time. This bond is special.
Growing up I have always been inspired by my friends and leaders of the sport. They have set the bar for what is possible and I have been motivated to follow in their footsteps. This "friendly" competition vibe just keeps things going. It has been awesome to see how many people are getting into climbing and where the future of this lifestyle is going. We are meant to help each other gain success because in the end the competition is within ourselves and not with others.
