*Sound on* Another great example of white privilege. Black and Brown communities are over-policed and their residents are often in fear of being harassed, framed, assaulted and killed by the police for simply existing. Yet here we have a group of white people (and White Nationalists aka White Supremacists no less) physically pushing back on police. No violence was done by the police. Now think back to Ferguson. Or Standing Rock. Or any given day in a poor community of color. This video is what it looks like to be handled with white kid gloves. But of course it's not surprising when you remember that the biggest police unions endorsed Trump while David Duke (KKK leader) praised Trump yesterday and said that they are "fulfilling the promises of Donald Trump." This video is a reminder of why white people (who are able) need to be in the streets in solidarity with People of Color. Because the difference of how an all-PoC protest is treated, vs a racially mixed one vs an all-white one (even of White Supremacists) is stark and predictable. White folks. We need to be consistently showing up and putting ourselves on the line. People's lives and freedoms depend on it. #charlottesville
