Animals were a major theme for the Australian collector and dog-lover David Roche, who filled his Adelaide home with unique treasures #MyCollection ? ? ?

Roche's two passions overlapped with portraits of dogs – judging both the pedigree of the dog and the artistry of the painter. His sitting room is full of portraits of dogs by masters such as Landseer, Jacob Bogdani and Maud Earl.

Now his former mansion has become a house-museum containing more than 3,600 works of furniture, ceramics, paintings and all sorts of oddities. The house is open for tours three times a day (@tdrfadelaide).
