Photo by @Tim Laman. I know you have been wondering… are Zebras white with black stripes, or black with white stripes. Turns out it is the latter. If you look at their skin color underneath the hair, it is all black. But why do they have stripes anyway? There are about five different theories, but the currently most popular ones have to do with cooling the skin, and repelling biting flies that don’t seem to like landing on striped surfaces.
