In a year of hiking in incredible places, almost nothing can compare to walking inside the crater at Haleakala National Park. And it is such a shame because most people visiting this park stay on the rim and look down into it. But getting inside is where the magic is. This was taken deep inside the crater along the Sliding Sands Trail. I remember thinking how incredible this view was, and how surreal it felt to be walking here!
