I like the timeless views of nature where it could be now or millions of years ago. Trees appeared on our planet about 370 million years ago, when the sun was in a different neighborhood of the Galaxy. There are now some 3 trillion trees on Earth but the two (dead & alive) pictured here are very eccentric. The Bristlecone Pine is adopted to high altitude and harsh climate. It is among the longest-lived life forms on Earth, some live for over 5000 years!
