This is an early work by Willem de Kooning that shows the influence of #Picasso, #Surrealism and his friend Arshile #Gorky, who he met several years after arriving in New York in the mid-1920s.

Our London summer exhibition Splash! continues until 28 July. Visiting hours are 10.00-17.00 at Christie's King Street, with a special late opening tonight. Access is free and open to all.
