Photo by @joepetersburger/@thephotosociety // 30 YEARS LATER // Ravens always amazed me. Their intelligence, flight, size and power just outstanding. They always warm up my heart, even if I just hear their unique voice somewhere up in the air. I desired to take pictures about them from the time I decided to start photography. However, I never focused on them, never took the energy. Even though, they live around the village where I live now... I was honored to hold a lecture last autumn in Canary Islands at La Palma islands Foto Natura Festival. We drove around the island and took pictures with #natgeo contributors Sergio Pitamitz @pitamitz and Tino Soriano @tinosoriano. We pulled over close to the highest point of the island. A minute after a raven couple got close to us and the male even landed. I assume, they used to get fed by tourist. I grabbed my camera and tried to get close to him. I could hold couple steps distance for several minutes with him. His mate kept distance, but stayed around. Finally I had this shot at bright sunshine with white clouds at the back. Just like a studio shot. Then he left as quick as they arrived. Please #followme at @joepetersburger to keep up-to-date with my images!
