This red-crested turaco named Kambo at @TracyAviary was hand-raised and super sweet. He even stood on my shoulder to help me edit! (swipe to see)
These birds have a gorgeous red crest on the tops of their heads that can stand up to 5 cm tall when they’re intrigued or excited. Their feathers are unique in that they actually contain copper. In museums, these feathers darken with time as the copper oxidizes, and if mixed well with water, will actually turn the liquid pink.
